Home appliances are not only convenient, but they conserve energy which can lead to sparing some dough while also saving you time.
Imagine a world where you can start your dishwasher from the office or see inside your fridge while at the grocery store. We’re all seemingly running behind and forgetting to check off those chores that keep our lives running smoothly.
We were amazed to learn about the combo clothes washer/dryer. What a dream to cut out all of the time we spend switching loads, or rewashing them, because our smart washer didn’t remind us there was a load in the washer. It’s like we may actually have a Rosie (if you’re life experienced enough to have watched the Jetsons, you’ll recall miraculous Rosie) one day in our lifetime.
How about turning on the kitchen sink with a voice command rather than getting that potential salmonella all over the faucet? Okay, maybe I am the only one afraid of these things?? You could turn the faucet off when you are across the kitchen and the pot you’re filling is reaching capacity. The latest dishwashers can suggest the best wash setting based on the cleanliness and quantity of dishes. Coffee makers can have your coffee ready to go when you are which could save you from being enticed by that Starbucks promotion you saw while lying in bed strolling.
Personally, I love my Ecobee smart thermostat because I can now change the temperature setting from bed or out of town. It’s at the top of my list along with my garage door app which keeps my OCD from getting the best of me. Smart switches allow me to be sure I turned off the curling iron, and these are some of the things I take for granted after getting used to them. With AI becoming more prominent, we have many more changes coming our way.
Why wouldn’t your next Christmas list contain smart shower faucets that alert you when the preferred temperature is reached, a smart toilet (which uses electrolyzed water to keep my toilet clean), or a sensored mosquito repellant system for the patio?
It might save you some marriage counseling by investing in a something like a smart mattress that can apply different temperature settings to each side, play music, and/or massage you. Same with smart mops, vacuums, robot pool cleaners, or lawn mowers. Think about all the time you’ll save not arguing about the chores. For additional savings, ask your insurance company if they offer a discount for cameras and water monitoring or electrical monitoring systems.
Go out and check out these super cool smart home appliances, and make life simpler! – except you, Mimi ;)
